JOAQUIN, Texas – A manhunt for a Houston-area couple suspected in a triple motel shooting ended in Cleveland, Texas Friday afternoon.

Bobbie Dwayne Grubbs, 42,and Deedra Michelle Grubbs, 38, surrendered after law officers stopped them on 59/Eastex Freeway near FM 105 in Liberty County.

The Shelby County sheriff said Bobbie Grubbs shot three housekeepers at the Country Inn Motel in Joaquin Friday morning. Martha Soceredoi, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to KLSA in Shreveport. The other two victims, a man and woman, were rushed to area hospitals. They are expected to survive.

The couple was staying at the motel and investigators believe robbery was the motive for the shootings.

The Grubbs were also wanted in connection with a Montgomery County home invasion.

Investigators say they beat Mary Cashdollar in her Spring home Wednesday morning. The robbers wrapped a vacuum cleaner cord around Cashdollar’s neck and tied her up before fleeing with weapons and jewelry.

Deedra Grubbs once worked for Cashdollar as a housekeeper.

Both suspects were being held in the Montgomery County Jail Friday evening.

KSLA & KTLA contributed to this report.
