HOUSTON -- A man was found dead after being stabbed repeatedly before sunrise Monday in northeast Houston.
A neighbor made the gruesome discovery on Duff Lane near Irvington Boulevard around 6 a.m.
“I was coming from McDonalds and then we passed by, we saw a body lying on the street,” said Joseph Soto. “That’s when I called 911.”
Police do not yet know the victim’s identity, but they believe he is between 25 and 30 years old.
Investigators searched the body and found no wallet or identification, and neighbors said they didn’t recognize him.
Since the man’s wallet was missing, police believe robbery could be a motive, but the victim may have also been specifically targeted. The man was brutally attacked and was stabbed over and over again in his chest and face, police said.
Two nearby homes on the street have surveillance cameras, and police are hoping to review the tapes to see if there are any clues as to who carried out the crime.
They’re also hoping more witnesses come forward who might have more information about what happened. Anyone with information can call HPD homicide at 713 308-3600.
