HOUSTON – A Harris County Sheriff’s deputy has been charged with felony drug charges. According to prosecutors, Christopher Ellis stole narcotics from drug dealers and sold them for profit.
Ellis was charged with two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver following an investigation conducted by the Office of the Inspector General’s Internal Affairs Division.
Ellis has been employed by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office since March 2010, and was currently assigned to Patrol District 1.
Ellis was placed on indefinite suspension pending the review of his employment status. He was in jail with his bond set at $120,000.
