HOUSTON —- Former Houston hand surgeon Michael Brown is accused of choking a flight attendant and threatening to strip nude while on a flight from London to Miami last month, according to court documents revealed Wednesday.

Brown faces a charge of interfering with a flight crew, according to a federal criminal complaint filed in Florida. The incident allegedly occurred on a British Airways flight on Jan. 2.

Court documents said about an hour into the flight, Brown confronted an attendant and demanded his meal and wine. Brown was then escorted back to his seat. While at his seat, court documents said Brown was approached by another flight attendant, whom he grabbed by the forearm and made “rude sexual comments” to. The incident was reported to both a supervisor and the flight’s captain.

The criminal complaint goes on to say that later in the flight, as Brown was being served his meal, he stood up and spilled his food while grabbing the flight attendant by her neck. Brown allegedly squeezed and asked her if she was a strong woman. The flight attendant told Brown she was not and asked to be released.

When another flight attendant stepped in to help, court documents said Brown grabbed her by the neck as well. He then threatened to strip naked in front of the passengers, making sexual comments about what he would do to the women.

The flight crew was able to calm Brown down, and he slept for the rest of the flight. Upon arrival in Miami, Brown was arrested.

Brown told police he did not remember what happened during the flight and said he is a “touch feely person” but not violent. He acknowledged that he may have touched the flight attendant but not in a violent or inappropriate way, court documents said.

Brown’s court date was set for Feb. 19.

The former surgeon was the founder of the Brown Hand Center in Houston. He became a familiar face due to his numerous television commercials.

In 2011, he went to trial after his fourth wife claimed he physically assaulted her. He was found not guilty.
