HARRIS COUNTY – A 43-year-old man died early Sunday afternoon after being shot by deputies in his home in west Harris County, according to the sheriff.
Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia said that just before noon Cy-Fair EMS was called to a residence in the 20400 block of Shiloh Mist Lane after a woman said her husband was acting irrationally.
When EMS arrived, the husband became confrontational and violent. Sheriff’s deputies were called in for support, Garcia said.
The first deputy arrived shortly after and engaged the husband. A second deputy arrived within minutes after the first, Garcia said.
The sheriff said the deputies tried to subdue the man with their Tasers, but the devices had no effect on the man. The deputies then opened fire on the man, Garcia said.
The man died from the gunshot wounds later at St. Catherine's Hospital, Garcia said.
Deputy Brady Pullen was sent to Memorial Hermann Hospital after suffering a concussion, cuts and bruises from the altercation, Garcia said.
He was later released Sunday, according to a HCSO official.
