HOUSTON – A woman is expected to survive after being shot in the chest early Sunday during an incident with another driver in west Houston, police said.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to a shooting at 12:45 a.m. in the 9500 block of Beechnut and found the victim shot once.
Investigators said the victim, who was driving an SUV, was involved in a minor traffic collision with a black Chevrolet SUV in the 9300 block of Beechnut.
The other driver, who was at fault, fled the scene, and then shooting victim followed, police said.
They pulled into a strip center down the street, where the suspect exited his vehicle and shot once at the victim, police said. The suspect then fled in his SUV.
The victim was taken to a local hospital and was expected to survive, police said.
