HOUSTON --Houston police are searching for two suspects who they say abducted a woman from a parking lot in southeast Houston, then robbed and raped her.

The violence has neighbors on edge in the area.

Some residents at the large apartment complex in the 3500 block of Dixie and Old Spanish Trail saw what looked like a kidnapping Thursday night. They called 911.

They told police they saw two men with guns grab a young woman walking in the parking lot and then force her into a car.

Investigators said the victim is 21 years old. She was taken to an ATM and forced to take out cash.

According to the police report, the two men then drove her to an unknown secluded location where she was sexually assaulted.

After the suspects let her go, the victim ran and called 911.

Apartment managers handed out a vague crime alert about the incident on Friday. The memo placed on residents doors just said a violent crime occurred overnight. The memo also asked residents to be aware of their surroundings and to lock their doors.

One resident told KHOU 11 News there has been a lot of crime in the area, and pointed to a location where a man was recently murdered.

KHOU checked with police and in December of 2011, a University of Houston student Hao Nguyen was killed on the property. Earlier this week, investigators linked Roderick Damien Mitchell to the murder though DNA. He’s been arrested and charged.

But now, residents have another unsolved crime to worry about.
