HOUSTON – Police said a man taken into custody following a chase early Friday morning made wild accusations that an on-duty officer spiked his drink while on a date at a nearby club.

According to the Houston Police Department, it was around 4:20 a.m. when the man driving a white BMW flagged down an officer on Westheimer at Hillcroft and told him someone slipped a drug in his drink at a club he was at.

The suspect then jumped in his car and sped away. The officer chased the man, who police said kept running red lights and driving dangerously.

During the chase, HPD said the driver called 911 dispatchers and told them he was out on a date with an officer who gave him a drug. The dispatcher talked the driver into stopping at Navigation and Lockwood, and the chase came to an end without further incident.

Police took the man into custody and discovered his heart rate was too fast, and they called a Houston Fire Department ambulance to take him to the hospital. Police believe the man was on PCP.

Even as he was being loaded into an ambulance, he continued to point at an officer and accuse him of drugging him, police said.
