HOUSTON – Some burglars ended up leaving empty handed after breaking into an O’Reilly Auto Parts early Saturday in northwest Houston, police said.
According to the Houston Police Department, someone busted in the front door of the business located in the 4800 block of North Shepherd around 2 a.m. and got into the office.
The suspects left after apparently realizing there was no cash and no way for them to get into the safe, police said.
By the time police arrived, the suspects were long gone.
The suspects did cut a telephone wire from the utility pole by the street in an attempt to prevent the alarm from going off, police said.
However, they also cut the power line going to a Sprint wireless tower that is right behind the O’Reilly, affecting customers using that service.
