HOUSTON— A Houston woman was terrified when she woke up to find a man wearing only underwear standing over her bed.

He slid into her bed and began groping her, as she yelled for him to get out, according to court documents.

Her mother heard the commotion and came into the room and she, too, demanded that he leave.

The suspect fled, but not before the victim recognized him as a high school classmate named Steven Delacruz.

She called police and Delacruz, 28, was charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit sexual assault.

He’s still on the run.

Police believe he got into the victim’s townhouse by pulling the patio door off its tracks.

"You gotta be kinda nuts. I mean a nutty bad guy," said Elizabeth Howton, who lives in the same complex. "Someone that grew up and got nuttier."

Delacruz’s bail will be set at $30,000 when he’s caught.
