HOUSTON – Deputies say a married couple’s fight nearly turned deadly Friday night in north Houston.
According to investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a wife pulled out a gun and shot him while they were riding in their SUV along Imperial Valley Drive near Bammel Road. The shooting happened at 11:10 p.m. while the husband was behind the wheel at a stoplight.
The husband fell out of the driver’s side, but since the vehicle was still in gear, the SUV kept rolling until it hit a tree in nearby field, deputies said.
The shooting victim was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
Deputies said the wife ran off, but was later arrested.
