HOUSTON – More than a dozen men and women were arrested this week during several prostitution stings conducted by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Vice Unit.
Investigators said the operation resulted in 16 arrests with all of the suspects being charged with prostitution.
The operation, with the assistance of the Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, targeted suspects who solicit sex from prostitutes and the prostitutes themselves, investigators said.
The operation was conducted along the I-45 North and Eastex Freeway frontage roads, just south of Beltway 8, investigators said.
Undercover female deputies posed as prostitutes working the streets, while male undercover deputies canvassed the area, searching for women who were soliciting sex for money.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said they will continue to conduct similar reverse prostitution operations year round targeting not only those who solicit sex but those who sell sex as well.
