HOUSTON—Capital murder charges have been filed against three teenagers in the fatal stabbing and shooting of a Houston man.
Victor Quevado was killed in a parking lot in the 13100 block of Bissonnet Saturday night, while his wife and 13-year-old stepdaughter watched helplessly.
Detectives said two 15-year-old suspects were arrested Monday and confessed to their roles in Quevado’s death. A third suspect, 17-year-old Christian Alexander Lopez, was charged but remained at large Tuesday morning.
Quevado’s wife and stepdaughter said the killers escaped with two cell phones. The two women were not injured.
Investigators on Monday said they were working to determine if Quevado’s murder was connected to another shooting that happened nearby, just two hours later.
In that case, a man said four suspects robbed him at gunpoint in his driveway on White Cap.
Solomon Ogunde said the suspects shot him in the back and took off with some money and his SUV.
It was not clear if the teens were involved in that crime.
