Girl beaten, raped
CYPRESS, Texas – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has released a composite sketch of the suspect wanted in the brutal sexual assault and beating of a 16-year-old Cypress girl.
Deputies said on February 5, the teen was walking in the 16600 block of Spring Cypress Road around 11 p.m. when the suspect grabbed her and dragged her into a wooded area.
The man beat the girl with a blunt object, and then sexually assaulted her.
The victim pretended to be dead, which possibly saved her life.
"She doesn’t move, she doesn’t flinch and he does not say a word to her. He stands over her making sure that she was dead," said Harris County Deputy Armando Tamez.
A witness told KHOU 11 News that he believes he made eye contact with the rapist minutes after the vicious attack.
"When he came over here, he was real sweaty, he walked from the store and just face down," said the man, who didn’t want to be identified.
"What I noticed, he was wearing the grey shirt, he was really sweaty," said the witness. "I was thinking he was coming from the 24 hour Fitness or something."
Ann Ferguson, who lives in the area, had a message for the rapist.
"Sooner or later, you gonna get caught. Better to get yourself turned in," Ferguson said. "You know what you did was wrong, a child is, you know, in a bad state."
After the attack, the victim stumbled half a mile to a Cinemark movie theater near Highway 290 and Spring Cypress Road to plead for help. The naked girl was covered in so much blood, witnesses thought she was wearing a red dress.
The security guard at the theater called 911, and the girl was flown to the hospital by helicopter. She was in critical condition in ICU at last check.
The suspect is said to be around 5 feet eight inches tall and has a thin, muscular build. He was wearing dark-colored clothing at the time of the attack.
Detectives are asking anyone with info or who may have seen something suspicious in that area Tuesday night or Wednesday morning to call the Sheriff’s office at 713-755-6044.
