RICHMOND, Texas – Investigators in Fort Bend County are on the hunt for a group of suspects in a felony criminal mischief case at Pecan Grove Country Club.
It happened on January 9, 2012.
Investigators said they were called to the scene in the 3000 block of Plantation Drive after the suspects broke into the club’s golf cart facility.
As many as six golf carts were driven into the club’s pond and were totally submerged by the time deputies got there.
Club employees said the carts had been visible earlier in the day, but heavy rains in the area that morning had covered them up.
Investigators said 18 other golf carts and a beverage cart were found parked all over the golf course.
Several of the carts were driven out of the barn while still plugged into their charging stations, causing further damage, deputies said.
Total damage from the vandals was estimated at $80,000-$90,000.
A cash reward of up to $5,000 was available Monday for information leading to the arrests of the suspects in this case.
