HOUSTON—An elderly couple is traumatized after being tied up during an home invasion involving five suspects Thursday morning.
Around 11:30 a.m., five men broke into a house on Summerset Way in west Harris County and tied up a husband and wife with phone cord and shoe laces, according to investigators.
Precinct 5 deputies arrived on the scene and the female victim was transported to a nearby hospital. Both suffered non-life threatening injuries
Authorities say at least one suspect had a gun and they all fled the scene in a white-colored SUV. The burglars took an assault rifle, an antique handgun and some cash from the home.
As of Thursday evening, they are not in custody. Deputies believe this was a potentially random crime, which continues to be under investigation.
