HOUSTON—Police are searching for a woman accused of driving her car into the back of a stopped motorcycle at a traffic light, fatally injuring the cyclist.

Around 9:15 p.m., Houston police arrived at the Katy Freeway feeder road at Studemont to find the driver of a motorcycle lying on the ground.

Authorities say that the motorcyclist, 33, was stopped at a red light when a black Ford Fusion approached from behind and slammed into the bike.

The rider was thrown into the windshield and onto the ground, while his bike stuck to the front of the car. He was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The woman, who police have identified as 25-year-old Shannon Garcia, allegedly got out of her car and ran on foot.

Gracia has been charged with accident involving injury or death.

If anyone has information on her whereabouts, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
