FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas – Detectives have identified the married couple in the double-fatality shooting that is under investigation in Fort Bend County.

Deputies were called to the house in the 4800 block of Russett Lane shortly after 6 a.m. Monday and they found Karim Kamdar, 46, and his wife, Nikhat Kamdar, 37, dead inside.

Investigators said the couple’s 15-year-old daughter, who received a gunshot wound, managed to call 911 to report the incident.  She was found in the front yard of the house.

Her 11-year-old brother, who also suffered from gunshot wounds, was inside the house.

Both victims were transported via Life Flight to Memorial-Hermann Hospital.  They both underwent surgery and were listed in stable condition.

A handgun was retrieved at the scene, deputies said. Investigators said they are waiting on lab analysis and autopsy results to determine the shooter.

Deputies said there were no signs of forced entry at the home or any other information to suggest involvement of a third-party assailant.

Qudsia Taqva, who lives next door to the victims, said the boy and her son would play together often. She said she was shaken by the news.

“I was surprised because they are very calm people, they never used to shout or anything like that,” she said. “I just want to know what happened.”

Nimet Lakhani, a church friend, was also shocked.

“She has a daycare in Rosenberg, and he has a convenience store. I mean a very happy family I don’t know what went wrong over here,” she said.
