HUMBLE, Texas – An 18-year-old man is in critical condition after being shot multiple times at a birthday party early Sunday in northwest Harris County, deputies said.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from Precinct 4 responded to a call of a shooting at 12:15 a.m. in the 7200 block of Oak Walk Drive near Atascocita Road. When deputies arrived at the residence, they found an 18-year-old man shot multiple times in the stomach and lower extremities.
The victim was taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition, deputies said.
Detectives said that there was a large birthday party for a 16-year-old girl going on at the home, when an argument started. A group of males were asked to leave, but they then came back. That is when one of the males pulled out a gun and shot the 18-year-old.
The suspect fled the scene in the car, deputies said. Witnesses gave the description of the car to deputies who spotted the suspect vehicle off FM 1960 and pulled it over.
There were four occupants in the car who were at the party, but not the shooting suspect, deputies said.
However, deputies did find a shotgun fully loaded in the car, but not the firearm used in the shooting.
The suspect remains at large, deputies said.
