HOUSTON—Crime Stoppers and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are looking for two armed men who robbed a check cashing store.

It happened at the Check n’ Go on Feb. 25 in the 2100 block of West FM 1960. The frantic 911 call came in around 12:35 in the afternoon.

Two gun wielding men wearing hooded sweatshirts and bandanas went in, jumped over the service counter and demanded money from the register, deputies said. They wanted more money, but the clerk didn’t know the code to the safe. That’s when deputies said the men beat the clerk over the head with a gun.

People who frequent the area said this isn’t the first time a crime like this has happened.

“One time I saw a guy running, and went out and we heard they robbed the place,” said a clerk who works next door.

Nearby store owners said they are in fear for their lives.

“It’s a little unsettling,” said Jessica Sayon.

Crime stoppers is asking anyone with information about the identity of the suspects to call 713-222-TIPS (8477).
