PORT BOLIVAR, Texas – Two young Houston women were found murdered on Port Bolivar early Friday, according to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.
The bodies of Britney Cosby and Crystal Jackson, both 24, were found next to a dumpster outside the Fisherman’s Cove store in the 700 block of State Highway 87.
Deputies say the women were involved in a relationship.
A beer deliveryman found the victims around 7:30 a.m. when he took out some trash.
Detectives believe the women were killed somewhere else and dumped at the store.
The news was a shock to residents of the quiet beachside community.
“Unbelievable, it’s scary,” said Nancy Palley. “You know, I told my husband we are making sure to lock our doors today. I’m not coming home to find someone in my house.”
Visitors who are on Bolivar for Spring Break were also stunned. “Actually makes me think to change my plans and go home,” said Sarahi Cadena.
Detectives are trying to locate the victims’ vehicle, a silver 2006 Kia Sorento SUV. It has paper tags and has been listed as stolen.
If you see the missing vehicle or have any other information about the case, please call the sheriff’s office at 1-866-248-8477.
