HOUSTON -- Deputies were following up on a new lead Saturday in the homicide investigation involving two Houston women after family members say one of the victim's debit cards was being used.
Investigators with the Galveston County Sheriff's Office hope that purchase will lead them to the person who left the two victims, Crystal Jackson and Britney Crosby, dead outside a Port Bolivar convenience store.
Jackson had a 5-year-old daughter -- the child doesn't yet know her mother is dead.
"You messed her up to the point she can't breathe anymore, you dumped her in a dumpster, why would you do to that to my sister," a family member said Saturday.
And relatives of Cosby said she worked at a coffee shop, and in her time off, helped take care of her great-grandmother.
"I'll never get over this death. I'll never get over it," a family member said.
Families describe the two women as close friends with a deep connection. The two saved up to buy an SUV. Deputies said whoever took it, may have also taken their lives.
Cosby and Jackson told relatives they were both going to work -- and somehow they ended up in Galveston County. As deputies search for clues, families prepare to say goodbye.
Jackson's father is a pastor --- he's spoken at countless services. However, he never imagined he would be speaking at his daughter's.
The families are hoping if someone knows something they will come forward and help the authorities.
