AUSTIN COUNTY, Texas – Investigators discovered more than 1,000 marijuana plants on a grow Friday morning just northeast of Sealy, deputies said.

According to the Austin County Sheriff’s Office, the plants were found near the intersection of Grubbs Road and Steck Bottom Road after receiving a tip Friday morning.

The grow bordered Mill Creek, which was being used to irrigate the plants, deputies said.

Investigators said that they may have spooked the workers who tended to the plants when they arrived, because they found a camp.

No arrests have been made at this time.
