BACLIFF, Texas — A woman was arrested on a felony charge after deputies accused her of passing out in her home while leaving her two young children in a car, authorities said Wednesday.

Bond for Jennifer L. Bautista, 33, of Bacliff, was set at $10,000 on a second-degree felony charge of abandoning a child with intent to return, said Capt. Mike Benavides of the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.

On Sept. 9, a deputy was called to investigate a possible child endangerment case in which two 1-year-old children were left unattended in a vehicle in the 4700 block of Third Street in Bacliff, Benavides said. Deputies accused Bautista of leaving her children unattended in the automobile while she was passed out inside her home.
