LA PORTE, Texas—Police are investigating the death of a 17-month-old child as a homicide after a ruling from the medical examiner’s office. Around 9 a.m. on Thursday, La Porte EMS and police arrived at the 400 block of Dwire in reference to a baby that was not breathing and unresponsive. The child was transported to a hospital and later died. The Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office declared the death a homicide and the investigation is continuing.
