HOUSTON – A young Houston father deliberately put his family’s life in danger when he angrily grabbed the steering wheel of a car his son’s mother was driving, according to Precinct 4 deputy constables.
Ari Singleton, 20, was charged with endangering a child.
Singleton and his son’s mother got into an argument as they were driving down FM 1960 on March 19. Singleton was in the front passenger seat, his 4-month-old son was strapped in a car seat in the back and the child’s mother was driving.
Singleton allegedly got angry and grabbed the wheel saying he should just kill them, his son’s mother said. As she struggled to maintain control, the car swerved in and out of the lane.
The woman managed to pull over to a shoulder, getting them out of harm’s way.
Singleton’s bail was set at $2,000.
