HOUSTON—A woman accused of defrauding a 90-year-old man in Spring has been arrested, according to Crime Stoppers.
Investigators said Giget For has been on the run since February when she failed to show up for a court hearing in Houston.
Investigator said on Sept. 29, 2013, For approached the victim in the parking lot of a Walmart located on the 21100 block of Kuykendall Road and convinced him that she was in desperate need of groceries for herself and children. The man ended up purchasing over $1,800 in groceries, detectives said.
Then For continued to deceive the elderly man, and led him to a retailer located at the 6000 block of FM 2920, where she used his credit card to make an additional purchase totaling more than $1,000, according to investigators.
Investigators noted that For has multiple outstanding warrant for incidents involving theft from elderly men in Harris County.
For is charged with felony theft of an elderly.
She was arrested in Chicago on a traffic violation and investigators realized she had warrants out for her arrest in Harris County.
For is currently being held in the Harris County jail with no bond. She is scheduled to be back in court on Monday.
