HOUSTON – A convenience store in west Houston was hit for the second time in less than a week after a man robbed the business at gunpoint late Friday night.

The owner of the Minute Stop said that at about 9:30 p.m. an unidentified man walked into the business and pointed a gun at the clerk. He took cash from the register, food and some other items before leaving the business. The store is located in the 6100 block of Westheimer Road near Greenridge Drive.

The crime was caught on the store’s surveillance video, which may help identify the suspect.

The store owner said that this is the second time his business has been robbed in the last week. On Feb. 23, someone busted in the walls of the abandon store next to Minute Stop and ransacked the place.

The burglars busted the door lock that is next to the Minute Stop to get inside the place. The storeowner said that the landlord refuses to fix the busted door, so he now has someone stay at the Minute Stop at all times.

He said that he use to close the store at midnight, but now it is open 24 hours so that someone is there to protect the merchandise at all times. He is concerned about his store and the safety of the clerk who has to stay overnight.
