HOUSTON – Crime Stoppers and investigators with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office are searching for two suspects in an aggravated robbery in which a grocery store clerk was shot.
It happened on July 20, 2012, around 2 p.m. at a store in the 11200 block of FM 529.
Investigators said the masked suspects entered the store through a back door, wielding guns.
They demanded cash from the register.
During the course of the robbery, a 35-year-old clerk was shot in the back.
While hiding in a back storeroom, another employee heard the shots. He grabbed a gun and walked into the main part of the store, firing his weapon at the suspects.
Investigators believe he may have shot one of the suspects in the upper-right thigh area. The injured clerk was taken to the hospital, where he remained in critical condition Thursday.
The suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a gold GMC truck.
Surveillance cameras were rolling as they left the store.
