STAFFORD, Texas—A car chase in Fort Bend Monday morning ended with the capture of 11 suspects who were all crammed into one pickup truck, according to authorities.
Just before 9:30 a.m., officers with the Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office began pursuing a white Ford F-150 with more passengers than seat belts after receiving a tip.
The chase ended at 59 and Beltway 8 near Archer Dodge.
Five or six suspects managed to escape in a bayou and headed east. One of the captured includes a 16-year-old girl.
"A suspected human smuggler was arrested along with seven other individuals for administrative immigration violations," according to a statement from ICE.
Investigators say the license plate on the truck does not match the vehicle and in fact belongs to car owners in Amarillo.
