HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Pct. 4 deputies arrested two suspects who allegedly broke into a home on Rose Rock Monday morning northwest Harris County. A third suspect is still on the run.
At about 11 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a home break-in, and when they arrived, they saw the suspects leaving in a gold Chevy Malibu.
A short chase ensued, deputies said. They followed the suspects into a neighborhood, where the men drove the Malibu onto the lawn of a home on Valiant Woods Drive. That is where all the suspects jumped out of the car and fled.
One suspect was immediately caught after a police K-9 unit found him hiding in a sandbox. The other was found several hours later after he was seen running through a wooded area near Spring Cypress.
“We released the scene for a little bit and he came back out in the open again,” Assist. Chief Mark Herman said. “We set up a perimeter again and at that time our K-9 located him and we were able to get him.”
Their getaway car was full of stolen items from the home, which included two televisions and other electronics. The car turned out to be stolen out of Galveston as well.
