HARRIS COUNTY, Texas -- Police said five men were in custody early Friday after they allegedly broke into a meat market on the north side of town.
Surveillance video showed the suspects crawling on the ground to try and avoid being spotted.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, it was 3 a.m. when five men broke into La Guerrero Meat Market #2 on Aldine Mail Route near Chrisman. Police said the men used axes and picks to bust through the roof of the store, but it wasn’t the meat they were after. Instead, investigators believe the men were trying to get into a neighboring business.
The men quickly realized they were trapped as a silent alarm was triggered.
Deputies arrived to find four men still inside the story with one man still on the roof.
They were taken into custody without further incident.
Unfortunately for the business owner, the men caused several thousand dollars worth of damage to the store.
