HOUSTON – A burglary suspect led police on a chase early Sunday morning at a north Houston apartment complex, police said.

According to the Houston Police Department, at about 1:30 a.m. a resident at the Villa Del Sol apartments called 911 to report that an unknown man was breaking into a pickup in the parking lot. The apartments are located in the 10100 block of Irvington Boulevard near Turner Drive.

When a patrolling officer arrived at the scene, he saw the suspect, who then fled on foot, police said. The suspect ran toward some railroad tracks nearby and jumped on a moving train.

Police were unable to locate the suspect after he fled.

It is not known if the suspect was able to steal anything from the truck, but he did break a window on the vehicle, police said.
