HOUSTON -– The front of construction equipment rental business was heavily damaged late Thursday after police said burglars pulled off a daring smash-and-grab.

It was around 11 p.m. when the Houston Police Department said officers were called to North Shepherd at Dillard. A silent alarm at a business was triggered after the store was broken into, according to HPD.

The first officers on the scene found the front doors and windows werer smashed and torn away by some type of vehicle, most likely a truck. The suspects then made off with several air compressors, valued at around $3,000 total, according to the store’s owner.

Police said there was no description of the suspects nor their vehicle.

The store owner said his surveillance cameras were not working at the time of the crime.
