HOUSTON—The boyfriend of the woman found stabbed to death in her apartment on Monday appeared in court Tuesday morning facing a murder charge.

Ronald Green is accused of killing Cecelia Sanders and leaving her three-year-old and seven-month old daughters behind in the apartment.

Sanders, 27, was found by her mother in the 5600 block of Yale near Tidwell. Her older daughter was found hiding in a closet and the baby was near the mother’s dead body.

Police say the young children may have witnessed their mother’s murder.

In addition to murder, Green is also charged with child abandonment. He is being held on a $130,000 bond.

Green was found at a gas station near the scene and was taken in for questioning on Monday.

"He was seen pacing back and forth in front of the apartment. He went in the apartment and that was the last time he was seen here," said Sgt. Warren Meeler, HPD Homicide.
