HOUSTON -- Bond has been raised for the woman accused of hitting and killing a bicyclist in Montrose.

Margaret Mayer’s bond was raised from $30,000 to $100,000 after officials said she failed a random drug test.

Mayer is charged with failure to stop and render aid after police said she hit 24-year-old Chelsea Norman, who was riding her bike home from work.

Norman was critically injured and died three days later in the hospital. Her family is planning a benefit in her name in late May.
