HOUSTON -– Homicide detectives blocked off part of a neighborhood south of Hobby Airport early Tuesday after a man’s body was found in a roadway.
The discovery was made shortly before 2 a.m. in front of a home on Randolph Street near Constellation Lane, according to officers with the Houston Police Department.
Residents at the home said they heard what they thought was a tapping or knocking sound on their window and called police. When officers arrived, they found the body in the road.
“Someone tapped on my window,” a male homeowner told KHOU 11 News. “I woke up. My wife told me to not go outside, so the first thing – now and days they have these home invasions – the first thing I did was call the police. I came out, the police were still not here yet. I went back inside my home, and when I came back outside the police asked me if I had heard any gunshots.”
“We’re not sure who it was who did the knocking,” said Officer R. Nunez. “The Medical Examiner’s Office is out here. They’re doing their half of the investigation.”
Police said shell casings were found near the body, but they were also looking into the possibility the victim was struck by a vehicle.
No witnesses have come forward in the case.
