HOUSTON - A domestic dispute led to a murder-suicide in east Houston on New Year’s Day, according to Houston police.
It happened at a home located in the Pleasantville area on Wiggins Street near Ledwicke Street.
Police said 24-year-old Ana Flores called 911 during an argument with her 29-year-old partner Belinda Espinoza.
While police were on their way, offices said Espinoza pulled out a gun and shot Flores and then herself.
Family members told police Espinoza called them shortly before the shooting and threatened to kill herself.
Neighbors who live near the home struggled to make sense of what happened.
“Why,” asked Anthony Clark. “We don’t usually have these types of incidents in the neighborhood so it’s very devastating.”
Another neighbor said he knew one of the victims.
“She was a nice lady,” said Milton Allexander. “It’s mind boggling.”
