FRIENDSWOOD — Clara Harris, the scorned Friendswood dentist who ran down and murdered her unfaithful husband with a Mercedes-Benz, has been denied parole.
In July 2002, Harris ran down her husband, 44-year-old David Harris, in the parking lot of a Nassau Bay hotel after finding him with his mistress. She was driving a Mercedes-Benz and Harris’ then-teenage stepdaughter was in the passenger’s seat. The entire incident was videotaped by a private detective Harris had hired to spy on her husband.
On Feb. 14, 2003 — the 11th anniversary of her marriage to David Harris — Clara Harris was convicted of murder and sentenced to 20 years in a state penitentiary. She was eligible for parole after serving 10 years.
A parole panel of the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles has voted to deny parole.

Harris asked an appeals court for a new trial in 2009 because she claimed that her trial attorney was ineffective. A new trial was denied.
