HOUSTON – Authorities are searching for a suspect in connection with a series of cell phone store robberies throughout the metro area.

According to Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department, the suspect may be responsible for several robberies along the North Freeway since May.

One of the robberies happened on July 20 at a store in the 7200 block of North Shepherd, police said. At 3:05 p.m., the suspect, posing as a customer, approached the service counter and robbed an employee using a chrome revolver.

Then the suspect demanded access to the employee’s vehicle, and fled the scene, police said.

The suspect is described as a black male, between 30-40 years old, 6 feet 2 inches to 6 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 220 to 260 pounds, police said. Witnesses report that the suspect often wears camouflage pants, ball caps and is armed with a revolver.

The suspect has been seen driving an older green Honda Civic or Accord.
