CLEAR LAKE, Texas -- An armored car guard opened fire against a would-be robber on Monday afternoon in Clear Lake.
The incident happened around 5 p.m. when the Brinks armored car crew was making a cash pick up at a strip mall in Clear Lake.
According to witnesses, the robber waved a pistol, grabbed a money bag from the guard and ran to a nearby getaway car. The guard opened fire and struck the man.
A short while later, a man with two gunshot wounds to the back turned up at LBJ hospital.
HPD was trying to determine if he was their suspect.
