BAYTOWN, Texas – A 17-year-old girl shot and killed her friend after the two argued Wednesday morning, according to Baytown police.

Dustin Head, 22, was found by his sister, Brittini Head, lying in the road in the 700 block of Kilgore Road and bleeding from a gunshot wound around 3 a.m. The sister called 911 to report that her brother had been shot.

Officers learned that Dustin had been at a friend’s residence where he and Haley Korocy, of Baytown, had gotten into an argument. The argument turned physical and Dustin chose to leave the residence when he called his sister to come and pick him up.

While Dustin was waiting outside, Korocy recovered a rifle from inside the home and fired one shot, striking him in the back, police said.

The young man was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Korocy was taken into custody and an investigative hold was placed on her while police interviewed witnesses.
