RICHMOND, Texas—The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office has issued an Amber Alert for a missing 16-year-old girl.

Alyssa Rehfield was last seen around 11:20 p.m. Monday at her home in the Pecan Grove subdivision in Richmond. Investigators believe she is with 36-year-old David Karan, a man she met on the Internet.

It was unclear if she went willingly or if she was abducted, but investigators said they were not taking any chances.

"Any time a young juvenile female is in the custody of an adult male, that brings alarm to us and we act on it," Capt. James Burger said.

Fort Bend County detectives believe the two were last in Boerne, Texas, at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday and were possibly heading out of state. They were traveling in a silver 1995 Ford Aspire with Oregon license plate 884-AGZ.

Alyssa is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 180 pounds, and has blonde hair and brown eyes. She also wears braces.

She was last seen wearing dark blue or black skinny jeans, a black shirt and a wrap-around cardigan.

Karan is described as 5 feet, 7 inches tall, 130 pounds, and has brown hair and blue eyes. Investigators said he has lived in Missouri, Oregon and California.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Rehfield and Karan, call police.
