HOUSTON -- An Alief woman attacked by a group of teens for her cell phones.
The incident happened in the 12100 block of Seashore around 10 a.m. Thursday.
She says she was then attacked and dragged 20 feet in her front yard by teenagers who wanted her cell phone.
Police took pictures of her injuries. She had a scraped elbow and knee.
Her husband, Fredman Castillo, says he and his wife had just walked out if their home and headed to their car when they saw eight teens rushing towards them.
"When we were just about to get into our car, one of the guys grabbed the phones, but she resisted. They pushed her down and dragged her," Castillo said.
Houston police says the suspects scattered, but with the help of the department’s helicopters, three suspects were caught nearby after jumping fences.
One by one, the suspects were brought back to the scene where separately they were identified by the Castillos.
Alief ISD police say the young men are all students in their district, but were currently suspended for something unrelated.
Police recovered one of the Castillo's phones and dusted it for finger prints.
They also looked for fingerprints inside two homes down the street that had been broken into around the same time.
