HOUSTON – Thirty-three people were arrested and charged in what investigators called the biggest drug bust in Walker County history.
The suspects are accused of conspiring together to move large amounts of cocaine and marijuana out of the Houston area north to Huntsville and beyond, including Dallas.
For more than a decade Huntsville was their base for operations and this was their full time job, investigator said.
But Walker County Sheriff Clint McRae said the area is no longer a place to conduct this kind of illegal business, and with the help of the Huntsville Police Department, the DEA, and ATF, they shut it down.
Both the DEA and ATF are asking for the public’s help finding three fugitives. Anyone with information on where Herratio Hedspetch, Dennis Haynes, and Scotty Porter are located is urged to call police.
