HOUSTON – Police are checking to see if a driver was drunk after he allegedly ran a red light and slammed into a car early Saturday in northwest Houston.
According to the Houston Police Department, a Mercedes was speeding when it slammed into a Toyota that was pulling out of a Valero gas station. The accident happened at 2:30 a.m. near Fairbanks N. Houston Road and West Road.
All three people in the Toyota were hurt, police said. The driver was taken by ambulance to Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center, while Life flight took the two backseat passengers to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Mercedes was arrested at the scene.
