ATASCOCITA, Texas – A bank robbery turned into a police chase in northeast Harris County Wednesday afternoon when five suspects fled the scene in a getaway vehicle.

The suspects robbed a Chase Bank in Kingwood and assaulted a woman inside the bank, according to police.

They fled the scene in a silver Dodge Durango and police followed.

Officers used spikes to stop the vehicle, but the five suspects jumped out and ran into a wooded area.

Four suspects were captured near the 6400 block of Kingwood Glen.

Oaks Elementary and Oak Forest Elementary schools were put on lockdown while police searched for the suspects. There were staff members inside the school, but no children.

The fifth suspect was later captured taken into custody.
