PASADENA, Texas -- The Pasadena Fire Marshal’s Office has arrested 2 juveniles in connection with a fire which destroyed an apartment building in Pasadena.

The incident happened Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at the Cinnamon Ridge Apartment Complex, located in the 6500 block of Spencer Highway.

The Pasadena Fire Department responded to the reported apartment fire. Firefighters found fire coming from an upstairs unit extending towards the roof of the building. Firefighters initiated a fire attack in the unit of origin, but were immediately forced out due to a structural collapse which nearly trapped two firefighters.

Through the course of the investigation, Pasadena Fire Investigators were able to identify two persons of interest and on Friday investigators were able to criminally charge two juveniles with first degree felony arson.

Both suspects are awaiting adjudication by a court.
