ANGLETON, Texas - Police are looking for a suspect after a woman was sexually assaulted at gunpoint.
According to the Angleton Police Department, police received a call early Thursday morning from a man stating his 19-year-old daughter had been sexually assaulted at gunpoint in the 200 block of South Anderson Street near the railroad tracks.
Police say the suspect allegedly got into the victim's car and displayed a pistol. He forced the victim to drive further south across the railroad tracks where police say he forced her out of the car, removed a mask and sexually assaulted her.
Police searched the area but the suspect was not found. Police consider him armed and dangerous. He is described as 5'7" tall with a muscular build. The victim said he had a black mask and hoodie on.
The victim was taken to the hospital.
"What we’re telling citizens of course is just to heighten your awareness. Be very aware. Keep your doors locked, especially when your vehicle is not in motion," said Corporal Cameron Parsons with Angleton PD.
A second incident happened Thursday night in the area where a woman was approached by a man but no attack took place. At this point, police do not believe there is a connection between the two incidents.
