14-year-old arrested for Livingston HS clown threat

KHOU 11's Doug Delony reports from the Watch Desk

LIVINGSTON, TEXAS - Parents warn your kids – police are not playing around with the clown threat hoaxes.

Similar to an arrest made in the Houston Independent School District on Monday, the Livingston Police Department confirmed early Tuesday a 14-year-old was arrested for alleged threats made against Livingston High School.

Concerned parents sent KHOU 11 screenshots of the threats in question. It shows a fake clown named Larry Brown threatening to shoot up the school.

Livingston Police say detectives worked with Facebook and the school district to identify "Larry Brown," and early Tuesday morning they took the 14-year-old into custody. The young teen is charged with making a Terroristic Threat, which is a third degree felony.

The arrest comes after schools around the country have been put on alert due to a series of threats made online, usually by individuals using photos of clowns.
